The voltage should be between 13.5 and 14.8 volts with the engine running. Switch on the accessories in your Discovery Sport, for example, headlights, AC fan at full speed, and interior lights. The voltage should remain around 14 volts. If it drops and remain below 13.5 volts, it indicates a problem with the current supply from the alternator.
Voltage at the alternator 13.4V, same at the battery, so not a bad connection in the charging circuit. This happens because the alternator is not generating enough electricity to keep the engine running on its own. If the 2022 Land Rover Discovery continues to the run, the problem may lie with the battery. Unfortunately, there is only one way to know for certain if your alternator is bad, and that is to have it tested.
West Bedforshire. Nov 7, 2010. #2. The simplest way is to check the voltage across the battery, (usually 12.8 ish volts). Then start the vehicle and check the voltage across the battery again should be between 13 and 14 volts. Id doesn't give you precise info on the alternator but tells you whether it is charging.
I'd swap it and see if the problem happens with another alternator. Then you have at least ruled out the new part. Then you can start looking for the bare wire that is only making contacted when you are bumping about on the roads. www.okierover.com. 1993 Range Rover LWB. 2003 Discovery (R.I.P. wrecked) Save.
