The heater may stop working in BMW X5 due to low coolant level or air in the cooling system, clogged heater core, bad thermostat, faulty blend door actuator, bad water pump, dirty cabin air filter, bad blower motor, or HVAC control unit malfunction. 1. Low coolant or air in the cooling system. Low coolant level or air in the cooling system can

E90 Cooling Fan Issue. Hey everyone - looking for some suggestions in troubleshoot a cooling fan issue I'm having. Yellow overheat light came on the other day, scanned and got a 2EFE radiator fan code. I checked the fans operation by cranking AC but the fan wouldn't turn on. I pulled the radiator coolant temperature sensor to engage fan on high

My Suggestions for Diagnosing E-Fan Activation: 1) Use INPA or ISTA, or a BMW-Specific Scan Tool capable of reading Parameters for (a) ECTS Temp, (b) ROTS Temp, (c) E-Fan Speed expressed as % of "Max Speed". As example, the INPA Screen for Activation of the E-Fan (E-Lufter) is attached.
The air conditioner would work, and you could tell it was cold but the air would not blow out of the vents. Also this would happen off and on for about 6 months. The air conditioning would work and blow cold air, then it seemed like on the really HOT days it would not blow the cold air at all, so i had enough!!!

If your air compressor fuse is blown, your air conditioning won't work. In fact, you should hope the fuse is blown because it means your A/C issue is a simple one to fix. The fuses are designed to break when there is an electrical overheat, which prevents any hazards, such as fire. The fuse box is located inside the cabin, by the driver side's

5. Replace the relays and redo the temp switch tests. The fan should come on in normal and high speeds. If high speed does not come on: With the aux fan high temp (green/black to black/brown) switch jumped, check for voltage on both sides of fuse 18. If you have no voltage, the K6 relay is suspect.
Air Conditioning Fan Isn’t Working; This is the easiest one to tell if it is broken – because if the fan is broken then you will feel the air not circulating in your vehicle. If the fan is starting to break or wearing out, you will be able to notice because the air circulating will be “spotty”.

For whatever reason, after a while the AC just stops blowing out cold air. In addition, none of the car's diagnostics pick it up. Per BMW, they are currently testing the A/C Evaporator, as well as the wiring between the temperature sensor for the evaporator and the control unit in the car. iTrader: ( 0) HVAC blower intermittently does not work. Solution: wiring is faulty. Having owned the car for two years, it seems like about once a year, the HVAC blower would randomly (near the beginning of the hot season) just not work. The panel would change status but the blower wouldn't start at all. A restart or two later and somehow, it

Remove the fan/frame assembly. It is held in place by six (6) 10mm screws. The top two screws are accessed through the grills by the use of a 12" extension. The middle two screws are best accessed from beneath the vehicle using either a deep socket or a shallow socket with a 2-3" extension.

We changed the thermostat, now the heat/AC fan does not work. check fuses and relays all good. Disconnected the battery over night, reconnected it and the fan worked, until next time car was started. 2003 535i. Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the BMW? 6. Bad blower motor. If there is no air flow or reduced air flow from the vents on your BMW X6, bad blower motor could be the culprit. A worn out or weakened blower motor can also produce abnormal sounds when in operation. You cannot repair a broken blower motor, the part must be replaced with a new one.
